Hi, I'm Gene
I'm the founder of Villages Golf Cart Trader. I live in the Oxford/The Villages area myself, and like a lot of folks out here, I've spent plenty of time buying, selling, fixing, and generally tinkering with golf carts — everything from swapping out contactors to chasing down battery issues on my own cart. Somewhere along the way I figured the local buy-and-sell process could be a lot easier than it was.
Why I built this
Golf carts are basically a second car around here, but there wasn't a dedicated, easy place to list one for sale locally — people were stuck posting in crowded Facebook groups where listings get buried within hours, or paying to list on generic classifieds sites that weren't built with golf carts — or The Villages — in mind. I wanted something simple: free to list for private sellers, built specifically for this community, and easy enough that anyone could post a cart in a few minutes.
Built for buyers and sellers
For sellers, that means no cost to list a private-party cart, straightforward listing tools, and real local visibility instead of getting lost in a general marketplace feed. For buyers, it means a place to actually browse what's available nearby — by community, by price, by power type — without wading through out-of-area results.
Dealers welcome too
I built the site to work for local golf cart dealers as well as private sellers — giving area dealers a way to reach buyers who are specifically searching The Villages market, alongside the private listings.
Where it's headed
Villages Golf Cart Trader is still growing, and I'm building it the same way I'd want to use it — adding features based on what actual buyers and sellers in the community ask for, keeping it free for private listings, and staying focused on being the local option rather than trying to be everything to everyone.

Outside of Villages Golf Cart Trader, I also run Cartzilla, a golf cart parts and accessories store, and write for Florida Buzz, a Florida travel and lifestyle publication.
